10 The Broadcast (6:33)

Cutting Crew are an English rock band formed in London in 1985 by lead vocalist Nick Van Eede and guitarist Kevin MacMichael. The group achieved international success with their 1986 debut single, "(I Just) Died in Your Arms", which reached number one in the United States and charted highly worldwide. Their debut album, Broadcast (1986), produced several other singles, including "I've Been in Love Before", which also reached the U.S. Top 10, and earned them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 1987. Despite lineup changes and a hiatus in the 1990s, Van Eede revived the band in the 2000s, releasing new material and touring under the Cutting Crew name. Known for their polished production and melodic rock sound, the band has maintained a dedicated following and continues to be recognized for their contributions to 1980s pop and rock music.

Released in the United Kingdom in 1986, Broadcast was later released more widely, including in the United States, Canada and Japan in March 1987 with different packaging and four remixed tracks ("Any Colour", "One for the Mockingbird", "I've Been in Love Before" and "(I Just) Died in Your Arms"), all of which were released as singles. It was the first album to be released in the US by Virgin Records' new American imprint, Virgin Records America. "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart, and later on, "I've Been in Love Before" and "One for the Mockingbird" became top 10 and top 40 hits respectively across various countries. The band then received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist of 1987. Despite all this, however, contemporary reception to the album was mixed from critics and muted commercially.

Both the album and the band have been looked upon more positively in hindsight. In a retrospective review, Michael Sutton of AllMusic gave the album four stars. He said the album "never deserved the hacking [it] received from critics", and said that "the slick guitar rock on Broadcast may not have wowed the rock & roll intelligentsia, but it's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, an underrated collection of simple, heartfelt love songs and up-tempo pop that reside between the stylistic boundaries of new wave and mainstream rock." He concludes the review by saying the album "is not a creative breakthrough", but is "simply an LP absent of any filler."

Future Past is the fifteenth studio album by the English pop rock band Duran Duran, and is the band's first album to be released 2015's Paper Gods six years prior.
The album, co-produced by the band alongside Mark Ronson, Giorgio Moroder and Erol Alkan, also features guest appearances by Tove Lo, Ivorian Doll, Japanese band Chai, and Mike Garson. Blur's Graham Coxon is the guitarist on the album.

Founding member and bassist John Taylor described Future Past as a "very emotionally deep album", revealing that the lyrics were primarily written before 2020's COVID-19 lockdowns: "Many of the songs are about emotional crises, or long-term intimacy issues, let's call them. When we came back after lockdown, I felt that those lyrics, particularly 'Invisible', spoke to the moment, because the last 18 months have really been about intimacy politics." Simon Le Bon later revealed that making of the album started in November 2018 during a performance in the BBC Radio Theatre, broadcast live on BBC Radio 2, BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer in December 2021. He credited the British guitarist Graham Coxon as a significant figure in the creation of the album, stating that "he changed the picture of Duran Duran, he upped all of our games and he played some of the most incredible guitar that I've (Simon Le Bon) ever heard on any album".

Duran Duran are an English pop rock band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by singer Stephen Duffy, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor. After several early changes, the band's line-up settled in May 1980 as Rhodes, Taylor, singer Simon Le Bon, guitarist Andy Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor.
Emerging as members of the New Romantic scene, Duran Duran were innovators of the music video and a leading band in the MTV-driven Second British Invasion of the US in the 1980s. By 1984, the band had achieved levels of fame similar to Beatlemania.

According to Billboard, Duran Duran have sold over 100 million records. They achieved 30 top 40 singles in the UK Singles Chart (14 of them top 10) and 21 top 40 singles in the US Billboard Hot 100. The band have won numerous awards throughout their career: two Brit Awards including the 2004 award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, two Grammy Awards, an MTV Video Music Award for Lifetime Achievement and a Video Visionary Award from the MTV Europe Music Awards. They were also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The band were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

Sereno (Serene) is the 14th studio album by Latin Grammy-winning Spanish musician and actor Miguel Bosé. It was released by WEA Latina on January 29, 2002. sereno covers a whole myriad of musical styles, from pop, rock, funk, dub, electronica, East Indian rhythms, and yes, 2-step.

Bosé was born in San Fernando Hospital in Panama City, Panama, the son of Italian actress Lucia Bosè (1931–2020) and Spanish bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguín, Bosé grew up surrounded by art and culture: Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway were close friends of the family. The film director Luchino Visconti was his godfather while Pablo Picasso was the godfather to his sister Paola Dominguín.

Propelled by his famous family and their friends, Bosé started a career as an actor in 1971, taking part in various movies. He quickly found work on the basis of his talent and good looks rather than his family name. He studied acting as well as dancing and singing. Due to the lack of acting opportunities, he started exploring his talents as a singer in 1975. With the assistance of Camilo Sesto he recorded his first singles. Two years later, in 1977, Bosé signed a contract with CBS Records and he remained with them until 1984. With them he published his first album, Linda, which included his first hit single, titled in the same way. Between 1977 and 1982, Bosè was a major teen idol in Italy, Spain, Southern Europe and in all Latin America. He had 7 top ten hits that earned him a secure spot in every televised song festival held in the aforementioned countries. By 1983 his star had severely waned in Italy, and he rarely performed there again until the 90s, retreating to Latin American markets instead.

In 1980, Bosé declared himself to be bisexual, "but not homosexual" Years later, he identified as "trisexual" He was in a long-term relationship with sculptor Ignacio Palau from 1992 to 2018. In 2011, Bosé's twins Diego and Tadeo were born via surrogacy. Seven months later, Ivo and Telmo were born through the same method with Palau's biological gene.

During the COVID-19 pandemic Bosé became one of the most active denialists of the pandemic, questioning the effectiveness of masks and other aspects of the virus. Some of his videos were removed from YouTube and Facebook.

Masquerade is the twelfth studio album by English musical duo Bananarama, one of the most successful girl groups in pop music history. For nearly four decades, Bananarama has been one of pop's most influential and revered groups. Their hit packed career happened because they were the mold-breakers.. It was released on 22 July 2022 as part of the group's 40th anniversary celebrations.

The album was originally conceived as an EP, but following the cancellation of the group's live shows throughout 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it developed into a full-length album. In addition to working with longtime collaborator Ian Masterson, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward also co-wrote tracks with Sara's daughter, Alice Dallin-Walker, known professionally as Alice D.

The group was formed in London in 1980, and was originally a trio consisting of friends Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey (later with the band Shakespear's Sister), and Keren Woodward. Fahey left the group in 1988 and was replaced by Jacquie O'Sullivan until 1991, when the trio became a duo. Their success on both pop and dance charts saw them listed in the Guiness World Records for achieving the world's highest number of chart entries by an all-female group. Between 1982 and 2009, they had 32 singles reach the Top 50 of the UK Singles Chart.

"Favourite" was released on 29 April 2022 as a "taster track". The track is a cover of an Alice D song, as is the album track "Brand New", and features Alice on background vocals. The single was added to the B-list of the BBC Radio 2 playlist and made 'Single of the Week' upon release, before moving onto the A-list the following week.
